Yup! Finally we have it listed in our store section under EVB Mixes so check it out!
We are also going through a huge amount of hard drives scrapping through everything we can to dig up masters from each and every set we have mixed up and released over the years plus ones that never made it out to the public. Earl Von Bye has come out of the winter cold to drop on us a very very special mix that should keep you tied over for a long time, but have no fear, more are coming from all our DJs at BlackTigerRecording.

With “Kenobi” EVB, shows once again why he’s a master (perhaps the master) when it comes to genre crossing for dance music. Fantastic stuff, all vinyl! This mix is now in rotation on our station (and yes we are updating the playlists more often now, so if you hear us skipping through tracks, that’s us on the other end fixing things or updating the lists) so expect to hear more of it. This mix is also slated to go up on di.fm but we can’t tell you get on what channel or when it might appear just yet.

Cool new product to spice up your SL-1200MKIIs

I came across this awesome new product line from DJMods.com.

Prices are pretty up there but if you are dedicated these platter illumination units are very much a killer modification you can do to your SL-1200 MKII turntables. Each unit is around $275US bucks a pop for the regular Illuminator and a bit more for their super high end multi-color version. I’m not totally sure they are worth it and its not going to make you a better DJ or anything but if you take your decks out to parties and events to play on these are certainly hot looking add-ons that will make the pioneer cdj goons jealous.

Their website totally sucks and is hard to navigate but check out the videos anyway and see for yourself.

DJ Lithium EP work continunes

DJ Lithium is almost done with his work on IronSky in Finland and has some how managed to find time to work on his record. We will keep everyone update on this, but in the mean time there are some new mixes that he recorded before leaving Vancouver, that should appear shortly in the drunkenmonkey.ca pod cast series.

DJ Lithium EP Delayed.

Unfortunately due to DJ Lithium’s busy work schedule on the feature film “Iron Sky” while in Tampere, Finland – his EP is delayed along with a new mix. He is attempting to locate decks an a mixer for recording a new mix (or two) but the schedule is largely the problem. We will have more details on this soon, but don’t worry it will be coming – its not a question of if, its a question of when and it will be sooner than some think.

As some of you may know, DJ Lithium is currently in Tampere, Finland working on another Feature Film called “Iron Sky”, and of course you bet he brought vinyl with him!

So tonight if you are in the area and are probably thinking of heading to www.futuristics.fi event “Cathedral of Trance” then you are in luck because DJ Lithium will be there in the second room DJing as a special “secret international DJ” guest.

Slot time is set to be around 2:00AM or just after so make sure you get there in time and check it all out.

New Mixes

Before the summer hits in full swing, our DJs are hard at work to bring you new mixes. More than likely first up will be a new DJ Lithium mix, possibly a tag team set with Lee Majors. Beyond that Earl Von Bye’s summer annual mix is being compiled and we hope to get an update on it soon. For d.a.v.e:// lovers out there we know you have been wanting another mix and we are hoping to get one from Dave soon.

Please keep checking back and tuning into the radio station for new stuff. It will be added without any prior announcement when it does release so you may miss being on top of it the moment it comes out. We have a seriously busy schedule this summer of mixing, producing and events. Keep an eye out for more details.

As you may have noticed, we have a totally redesigned website now and while there are a few things still being worked out (including our new logo) and more sections coming with updates and information being added to existing sections we wanted to share with you the new site right away.

You can look forward to enhanced information (including playlist pages!), forums (maybe) and more over the next couple of weeks.

DJ Lithium “Hell Speak” Single

DJ Lithium has been hard at work in the Nice Kitty Sound studio in Vancouver over the last week or so and we have had a preview of the new track set to release on his first 12″ EP from Black Tiger Recordings in the new year.

This track is entitled “Hell Speak” and we have to say it’s impressive. More to come soon about this track and the others from the “Forgotten Realms” EP from DJ Lithium when we can. DJ Lithium is being very secretive about this production and he’s committed to making sure every step of the process is finely tuned and tightly controlled.

He has assured us though that he will have a new mixed compilation out before the end of the year as well. So keep an ear out for that.
