DJ Lithium Play Lists
This list is incomplete but will be growing over time, please be patient. I know many of you have been asking for the play lists over the years and I appreciate your interest. I have many reasons for not giving them out right away, please respect this. All tracks are mixed using the original vinyl. No digital dubbing or mixing is done whatsoever. I do not edit the tracks for length or tweak them for any reason. I keep them as they are and mix straight from vinyl (as I always have) to preserve the original intention and artistic value of the tracks as they are meant to be. Digital DJing is treason against everything that underground dance music stands for. I don’t care if you are Tiesto or JOOF or in your bedroom. Vinyl is the ONLY way it’s UNDERGROUND. When things went “digital” you can mark in dance music history when everything went to shit. There is no debating this. It’s a FACT.
Also one last note. I pretty much by all of these records the moment they come out. Just because the mix was recorded months even years after the records released doesn’t mean I am “behind the times”. Rather very much the opposite. I just have so many records to go through and mix that it’s difficult to get the time in with my busy work and production schedule.
Mixing a DJ set isn’t supposed to always be about “the latest and greatest tracks” . I save that stuff for live mix performances anyway ordering a lot of records weekly, monthly or just before so everything is fresh. Many of the tracks here I have only played out live a few times before I put them away and then come back to them for making the mixes you listen to and enjoy on the station here at Black Tiger Recordings. I’m actually a much better mixer and performer live in person than what you hear here on the mixes that are recorded at the studio in Vancouver. I’m just weird like that.
